The Singapore healthcare system is divided into three parts. The first part accounts for about 60% of the population and offers citizens free medical services through public hospitals which are run by both private companies as well as government bodies. The second tier provides subsidised treatment to patients who have Medisave accounts supplemented with cash savings in order to pay their bills at private clinics or even small neighbourhood facilities that do not require appointments but only take walk-in patients on a daily basis. Patients also get additional help from an insurance company if they need long term treatments like dialysis, chemotherapy or other forms of special care due to chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes etcetera because these types of illnesses cannot be cured easily If you fall under this category then you are able to get special discounts on treatments which will help you manage your medical expenses.

The third tier of the healthcare system is for residents who do not have enough savings or insurance coverage and must therefore rely solely on government subsidies. This includes people like retirees, low income households as well as foreigners who may be working but do not earn high salaries so their employer does not provide them with health benefits.
