Conveniently located along the main road, right across from the parking lot, this popular restaurant is always packed to capacity, as it is very popular in Singapore. Be sure to try the sambal, which is a flavorful mix of fried chilies and dried shrimp, and it partially covers the fresh, fried under fruit ($42). Other very common dishes such as salted egg yolks without the shell ($20), shrimp, fried chicken (using the middle part, $12) and fried baby calamari ($14) are also very good. There’s a fried tofu dish that’s really special: they make the tofu themselves with three types of eggs, and they’re crispy and flavorful, well complemented by a thick sauce ($12).
